We used Spring home to install a heat pump for AC in our old home that only had boiler heat. We worked with Sam who was very responsive throughout the whole process. He provided multiple options and detailed information... about what we needed. We really appreciated that they used high quality Mitsubishi systems.The install was very smooth. Peter and his team were in and out quickly. They worked efficiently in our attic and left the whole place clean. The machines have been functioning well so far.Two parts were out of stock (secondary drip pan and air intake vent grate) at the time of install. They told us they were trying to get them as soon as possible. I was re-insulating my attic one week post install and so i stressed the importance of having the attic work done before that happens. Spring Home Heating and Cooling has been helping us for over 20 years (I think before they were called Spring Home!). George and his team came into our home over 20 years ago to solve a radiator heating problem left by... another company. The other company installed a system, claimed that the direction of water flow did not matter (it did) and that minor leaks would stop because of rust (OMG that is SO wrong). George and his team were recommended to me by another contractor friend. They came in took a day to understand the system that was installed (it was a complex 4 zone system, combined with an AC from the attic). Once they understood what needed to be done George and his team got to work. They repiped (yes cast iron 1” and 2” pipes) and reconnected things properly. They made sure each component of the system worked before they left. Finally after a previous winter of poor heat everything worked as designed!Since then Spring Home has done work for us at various locations we owned. They have done new systems and system repairs. These consisted of new heat pumps, repaired and new Forced Air Gas systems, AC systems, hot water systems, instant hot water systems, and yes even some old-fashioned cast iron pipes when necessary.We have called them to solve problems and install new solutions many times and they have never let us down. They are quick to respond, conscientious, and just plain do good work.Highly Recommended!read more

The install team was excellent and they did a good job cleaning up... and left no mess. About 9.5 years ago we did a major renovation, and after a lot of research I decided to go with Spring Home. Their pricing landed exactly where I hoped it would, and the reviews were consistently positive. Sam was our sales... rep.When the house was finished, there was a small issue that came up. It was due to a miscommunication between the general contractor and the installers. A hose had been pushed behind a joist, and the drywall crew sealed it in. I would not say it was entirely Spring Home’s fault. It was more the result of several trades crossing paths. That said, once the issue was discovered, Sam and his team stepped in immediately and made sure it was fixed right away. Sam was far more focused on making sure we were happy than on assigning blame, and at that point I knew we had chosen the right company.A few years later I did something pretty foolish and cut a wire to the outdoor AC unit while gardening. I called Sam on a weekend, and he calmly explained that it was not a major issue and talked me through how to fix it myself. It was the wire that sends the temperature signal to the thermostat, I think. Either way, problem solved, and I did not have to pay anyone a cent.This past week, during what felt like the coldest weekend in decades, our furnace started acting up after 9.5 years of solid use. Because it was very late and extremely cold, I panicked a bit and called one of the big 24 7 companies. They sent someone out to do a diagnostic and confirmed that a small part was needed. The problem was that the part was on back order with no clear timeline, and the quote came in at around $600 before tax. I told them I would think about it.The next morning I called Spring Home and explained the situation. They confirmed the part was indeed on back order. By that point, the temperature in the house had dropped to 12 degrees, and I was clearly stressed. The woman I spoke to could hear it in my voice. She told me to hold on while she checked to see what they could do.About an hour later they called back to say they had located the part. Less than an hour after that, Amir arrived, fixed everything quickly, and charged less than a third of the price I had been quoted by the other company. No exaggeration. We woke up on a very very cold January morning to a dead furnace. I knew it was on its way out but I was hoping to get another season out of it before breaking up with Reliance. A neighbour had recommended Spring Home a... while back. I called, and a real person answered, who remembered the street name from servicing my neighbour's home.I was told Justin would come later that day, and despite having to drive over from the west end on the 401 during rush hour, he showed up. He must have been tired but it didn't show, and he patiently and expertly walked us through exactly what we needed for our situation. We went with a Trane furnace and a Mitsubishi Mitsair Cold Climate heat pump. He explained why heat pumps get a bad rap and dispelled a lot of myths around them (we would have gone all electric, non-hybrid, but that would have required an upgrade of our electric panel etc.).Right after our first phone call earlier that day, Justin put Peter, an amazing technician, on standby for the next day. Peter showed up much earlier than expected and had our new furnace up and running before dinner. Peter also left the area around the new furnace cleaner and better than it was before, specifically the drain cover plate in the basement floor and much of the tubing and straps. He also repaired a botched patch job a previous tech did, even though it will be coming out when the heat pump is added soon. Peter is a master.Justin and everyone else at Spring Home take pride in their work. The company does not use subcontractors: everyone is a bona fide employee. Nobody is trying to unload equipment that might not be good for your setup, or do some business on the side. Not gonna lie, it was nice to call Reliance and cancel their "protection" plan. This was one of the best consultation and installation services that I have ever experienced. From the very first phone call, Justin was knowledgeable and patient with all of my questions. He stayed on the phone with me for... at least an hour and then on tjat same day which happened to be a Saturday night, he drove out to my house for further consultation. Upon arriving he spent at least another 30 minutes talking to me about different products and brands and what would be best for our home. About 15 years ago, they were... victims of a shady high-pressure door to door sales company that disappeared as soon as the equipment was installed, so my parents were very nervous about having any company come in. Their old furnace and AC never worked properly and struggled to heat and cool the house evenly.Shortly after contacting Spring Home, Justin reached out and met us at the house the same day. Before even looking at the equipment, he sat down with my parents and took the time to genuinely listen to what they liked, what they did not like, and what they were hoping for. He explained the differences between the units, how heat pumps work, and what realistic expectations should be. He explained everything in plain language, which made my parents feel comfortable, and he went through everything from the differences between brands and how they are manufactured to the pros and cons of different types of units. Over the years, we have received other quotes, but we never felt like we truly understood the differences because every company only praises the brands they sell.
